Samsung Australia is nearing a significant decision in its ongoing creative and media pitches, according to reports from AdNews. The local branch of the global technology giant has reportedly developed a shortlist of agencies but has yet to confirm any selections for its accounts.

In a brief statement, a Samsung spokesperson acknowledged the contributions of all agencies involved in the recent roster review, stating, “Samsung Australia recognises the efforts of every participating agency in its recent roster review; and can confirm the process continues, with all involved agencies notified of the next stage.” However, the spokesperson refrained from providing additional comments on the matter at this time.

Insiders have disclosed that M+C Saatchi has been eliminated from the creative pitch, impacting the competitive landscape. Additionally, discussions surrounding the potential involvement of Samsung’s in-house agency, Cheil, remain pending.

The incumbent agency, Clemenger BBDO, announced its withdrawal from the pitch back in May. This decision is noteworthy, given that the Omnicom agency has maintained a relationship with Samsung Australia since 2020, working on multiple campaigns during their partnership. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe has been instrumental in handling much of Samsung’s global work through its subsidiaries, Starcom and Leos.

Samsung’s latest moves raise questions about its strategic direction in the competitive Australian market. As the tech giant navigates this pivotal moment, industry observers will be keenly watching for the outcomes of this pitch process. For further insights into this unfolding story, visit AdNews.
