Congressman Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ-06) has made a resounding entry into the 2026 campaign cycle with the launch of his inaugural television ad last week. The ad, tailored in both English and Spanish, delineates the congressman’s journey as a legal immigrant, his diverse work history, and his committed stance on legislation aimed at curbing stock trading among Congress members.

Titled “Work For You”, the ad features Ciscomani vividly recounting his family’s American Dream narrative: “Twenty years ago, I became an American citizen. We immigrated to the United States and started with nothing. Dad drove a bus. Mom cleaned houses. Five of us in a two-bedroom apartment.”

Ciscomani’s advertisement emphasizes that public service should prioritize community well-being over personal financial interests. “Families are working too hard to watch Washington politicians put themselves first,” he stated in the accompanying campaign message. “I don’t work for Washington. I work for you.”

The congressman’s ad also positions his support for the legislation against congressional stock trading as a key highlight of his tenure. He asserts that he has “stood up to both parties” in co-sponsoring the Stop Insider Trading Act, introduced in January by House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI). This bill seeks to amend federal law to impose stringent restrictions on stock trading by members of Congress, their spouses, and dependents.

The proposed legislation aims to bar these officials from purchasing publicly traded securities, mandating that they file public notice at least seven days in advance of any sale. Furthermore, it introduces a penalty for violations, amounting to either a fee of $2,000 or 10% of the sale’s value, whichever is greater.

H.R. 7008 is currently awaiting further consideration on the House floor, having cleared the Committee on House Administration back in February 2026. As the 2026 campaign unfolds, Ciscomani’s narrative and policy proposals are poised to resonate strongly in a political climate rife with scrutiny over ethics and accountability.
