In a significant move within the digital advertising landscape, AppsFlyer has announced a definitive agreement that will see minority investments from key players Moloco, Google, Meta, and Unity. This strategic financing round, exceeding $1 billion, is aimed at enhancing the company’s independent advertising measurement tools, particularly as artificial intelligence continues to reshape the market.
According to AppsFlyer, the funds will be allocated towards accelerating the development of AI-powered ad measurement solutions, improving cross-platform attribution, and establishing infrastructure for autonomous marketing and agentic workflows. While the specific financial terms remain undisclosed, they have been widely discussed in the industry.
AppsFlyer, a prominent provider of measurement and attribution services for advertisers, developers, and publishers, has clarified that each investment will be minority, non-controlling, and non-exclusive. This means that the companies involved will not receive preferential treatment regarding AppsFlyer’s APIs, measurement signals, attribution logic, or commercial terms, ensuring that customers retain control over their partnerships and data sharing.
Furthermore, AppsFlyer emphasizes that its customers will continue to choose their partners and manage their data exchanges independently, while the new investors will maintain relations with other measurement providers.
Oren Kaniel, CEO and co-founder of AppsFlyer, remarked, “As AI takes over more of how advertising is bought and optimized, the entire digital advertisement industry benefits from signals that are independent, neutral and not shaped by any one interested market participant.” This investment underscores a commitment to that principle.
The funding will marry shareholder liquidity with long-term strategic equity participation. Additional strategic partners may be invited to join in future closings under similar terms. However, the completion of this transaction is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
The involved companies—Moloco, Google, Meta, and Unity—have issued statements highlighting the critical need for neutral measurement within a digital advertising market increasingly dominated by AI and automated processes. Sunil Rayan, general manager of Moloco Ads, stated, “Trusted, independent measurement is an important component of unlocking ad opportunity on the open Internet,” affirming AppsFlyer’s reputation for delivering unbiased attribution.
Echoing this sentiment, Gaurav Bhaya, vice president and general manager at Google, noted that “accurate, trusted measurement is foundational to a healthy digital ecosystem.” Meanwhile, Meta Ads Vice President Andrew Bocking emphasized the necessity for “fair, unbiased, and comprehensive measurement” to enhance advertiser visibility and impact.
Lastly, Felix Thé, chief AI officer at Unity, remarked that neutral measurement is imperative for maintaining trust within the digital advertising ecosystem. AppsFlyer, which partners with over 15,000 brands globally, has demonstrated resilience through various shifts in platform policy, privacy standards, and AI-driven advertising practices.
